A family-run care home for those suffering from dementia
A family-run care home for those suffering from dementia, Gate Lodge provides a safe and caring environment for those that require support. Small enough to provide each resident with a personalised regime of care, we cater for no more than 21 places. Operational since 1984, we are situated in the grounds of the beautiful Webb Estate, a residential conservation area close to Purley town centre. Residents have access to the garden all year round, providing them with fresh air and glorious views.
Our support services are flexible and accommodating, providing short or long-term stays for those in need of dementia care. Many of our staff come from the local area, each providing friendly and supportive assistance for those who need it.
We work hard to maintain an informal environment that is homely and comfortable. Gate Lodge provides dementia care on a 24 hour basis, able to deal with those who are physically as well as mentally frail.
Staff respect each person’s right to privacy and dignity, enabling them to make personalised choices. Our philosophy is one of providing the highest standards of care, empowering each individual to have the best possible quality of life. We take the time to cater to resident’s likes and dislikes whilst supporting their dreams.
We don’t do packaged care – this is all about ensuring emotional happiness as well as physical health. Working within the limitations of each person, we provide them with a lifestyle that is both supportive and empathetic.
We choose our staff very carefully, enabling us to guarantee a quality of care. Not only are they fully trained but patient and kind. They are on hand to help whilst encouraging people to achieve simple tasks themselves. This helps to boost confidence by providing a sense of personal achievement. No two people are the same and neither is our care service.
Our goal is to ensure that everyone is cared for in a way that encourages independence with tailored support on hand to assist. Our individual assessments are detailed, enabling us to understand how the person lived previously. Using this, webuild on a sense of personal worth, involving each resident in the decision-making process.
